The easy answer is: Those that today are 100% done with a computer or dealing with information. There are lots of opinions about that, and it is not easy to determine when it is going to happen. I work as a software developer entrepreneur, and people started using Copilot/Claude instead of writing code... It works, but people sometimes use ai-generated code without understanding/checking it. I don't really use it (none of my articles are written by AI), because I have my own style, and AI does not follow it. Also for creative stuff (logos, designs, articles) it just copies other existing content, it does not innovate. But the truth is that I also automated some of my daily tasks, and the technical support, content creation and research are automated (I always check it), and today there are FREE products (chatwoot, manychat) that can replace workers without spending a single euro.
I honestly believe a big part of the promises and expectations following the generative AI development is part of its own bubble, which is not gonna survive for too long as the debt is unstoppably increasing to the point of absurdity. So I don’t think, in the short term, it is going to make the human replacement everyone has been proclaiming in the last years. For sure, there’s tasks where human intervention is less needed and, especially, creativity and individuality is not demanded as much. But, in the same way, this substitution will happen just in low-accurate demands. Some of these fields could be translation, content creation, web design or sales systems, since AI tools have proved a consistent outcome and products. However, this option has appeared as the cheap one, not even close to the perfect one. Many jobs that were threatened by generative AI such as coding, project managing or marketing have shown how the use of AI-generated content requires humans to check and correct the mistakes the learning models bring with themselves, so in the end, it is not shaping the workspace that much.
Regarding roles that could become obsolete or automated, as I mentioned in the first question, basically all tasks that are automatic or ABC tasks, that is, for example, customer service chatbots, any industrial process that is a chain, I think could also become obsolete.
Some jobs will probably disappear, or at least change a lot, because of automation, especially the ones that are repetitive and predictable. Things like data entry, basic admin work, or simple customer service tasks are already being done by AI and automated systems. But it’s not like all these roles will just vanish. In many cases, they’ll evolve instead. For example, people in customer service might focus more on complicated or human situations, while AI takes care of the simple questions. The same goes for jobs in areas like marketing, design, or programming. AI can help speed things up, but people are still needed to think, create, and make decisions. So overall, it’s less about jobs disappearing completely and more about them changing. Routine tasks will decrease, and skills like creativity, problem-solving, and being able to adapt will become even more important
Automation will change many roles, especially where activities are predictable, rule-based and highly repeatable. Classic clerical tasks, such as administration, accounting, data collection or customer service, are particularly affected. When AI understands requests, reviews documents, and prepares standard decisions, many of these tasks are no longer needed in the same form. However, they rarely disappear completely, but shift: people monitor processes, solve special cases and bear responsibility for quality and fairness. Tasks can also be radically reinvented in logistics, production and transport. Warehouse work, quality control, route planning or driving simple standardized routes can be increasingly automated. This shifts the human contribution more towards control, maintenance, security, and exception management. In the field of knowledge, the change affects professions such as translators, recording studios and speakers, marketing teams, legal assistance or routine journalistic work. AI can design texts, evaluate data, check contracts or personalize content. This makes simple standard tasks faster and cheaper, but at the same time increases the value of judgement, creativity, ethical classification and strategic thinking. People are becoming less of a pure producer and more of a curator, decision-maker and responsible person. Even in medicine and education, it is less about complete replacement than about redefinition. Diagnostic preparatory work, documentation or standardized learning opportunities can be taken over by machines. However, human strength remains empathy, trust, motivation and responsibility. The future of work is therefore not only a loss of old roles, but also the emergence of new ones: AI trainers, testing experts, process designers, ethics officers and people who are an interface between technology and society. Automation primarily replaces tasks, not simply people.
If decision pathways are sufficiently developed and based on high quality data, middle management will drastically change. Also whatever job or role has parts in it that can be sufficiently surrogated by AI will become much harder for the human part that is condensed to the most straining and complicated use cases without the possibility for "easy wins" (e.g. customer service).
The most significant might be education. We might have to re-think how we contribute to the newer generations’ academic paths, as AI will certainly be a constant presence in their life, and we have to think how we can help guide their motivations, rather than shoving raw information at their faces and expecting them to memorize it.
Automation can eliminate tasks such as manual data entry, basic analysis, and first-level customer support. From the perspective of an AI Training Manager, roles will shift toward training, monitoring, and improving AI systems.
Everything related to thinking and decision-making can be improved. AI helps the smart become smarter, and the dumb become dumber.
Many repetitive administrative and bureaucratic jobs could become heavily automated or completely transformed through AI and digital systems. Tasks that rely mostly on paperwork, routine processing or standardized procedures are especially likely to change. At the same time, practical professions and skilled trades — like construction workers, technicians and craftspeople — may remain highly valuable because they require real-world problem-solving, physical work and human adaptability that automation still struggles to replace.
